Water Critters

: Our next door neighbor called us to come out quickly & bring my camera to meet our new “neighbor” on Red Bird Ln in Cypress Lakes, Lakeland, FL. He was between our homes!!!

: Red Bird is a short cul-de-sac & our “back yard” is the 5th. hole, a short par 3 on the golf course

: This friendly guy/girl?, I will refer to “it” as a he, migrated between each home, “plopping” down between them.

: He seemed to be able to go only so far, starting out with his mouth closed & then opening it, before he had to “plop” down & rest again.

: I used my 55 to 300 zoom lens (not being so brave) between each home as he headed to the 6th hole

: My husband is the person in the background who is being brave – or crazy – though he’s not really as close as it seems!!!

: Alligators can go pretty fast but his one was having a problem navigating & had to stop & rest quite often.

: “Goin Golfin” – actually I think he/she looks like a prehistoric creature – this was shot as he went up onto the 6th tee box

: Looking at its stomach, she either just had a good meal or is looking for a place to lay eggs. May is the month!!!

: Now he’s migrating down to a pretty good sized pond. This was the largest we’ve seen at Cypress Lakes. The men estimated he was over 10 ft and probably weighed between 400 & 500 lbs.
